Why I’m Rebranding My Author Brand (And Why It Matters)
If you’ve been around my little corner of the internet for a while, you may have noticed some changes happening around here.
New covers. New messaging. A renewed focus on the kinds of stories I want to tell.
The truth is, this isn’t so much a reinvention as it is a rediscovery.
Over the years I’ve written paranormal mysteries, small-town mysteries, homeschool mom mysteries, massage therapist mysteries, and enough fictional murders to make my search history mildly concerning. Through twenty-seven books and countless cups of coffee, one thread has quietly connected every story I’ve told.
I’ve always been writing about women who don’t quite fit the mold.
Women with unusual talents.
Women who feel overlooked or underestimated.
Women who carry wounds, doubts, and imperfections.
Women who wonder whether the very thing that makes them different is also what disqualifies them from making a difference.
And book after book, mystery after mystery, they discover the opposite is true.
The homeschool mom’s persistence becomes her strength.
The massage therapist’s intuition helps uncover secrets.
The young woman who sees omens learns that even frightening gifts can be used to help others.
As I’ve reflected on these stories, I’ve realized they all point back to a truth that has shaped my own faith journey:
God delights in using ordinary people with unusual gifts to accomplish extraordinary things.
Scripture is full of unlikely heroes.
A shepherd boy became a king.
A fisherman became a disciple.
A reluctant leader delivered a nation.
God has never seemed particularly interested in waiting for perfect people with perfect resumes.
Instead, He uses willing hearts.
That’s the heart behind this rebrand.

Moving forward, my stories will intentionally reflect the message that our gifts—even the quirky, unconventional, or unpopular ones—are given for a purpose.
Not for our own glory.
Not for our own comfort.
But to serve others and build up the body of Christ.
My hope is that when you close one of my books, you’ll walk away with more than just the satisfaction of solving a mystery.
I hope you’ll be reminded that your gifts matter.
Your story matters.
The things that make you different may very well be the things God intends to use most powerfully.

Whether you’re an artist, a teacher, an encourager, a caregiver, a problem solver, or someone still trying to figure out where you fit, there is room for your gifts in God’s kingdom.
That calling is both your purpose and your promise in Christ.
So while the covers may change and the branding may evolve, the heart behind these stories remains the same:
- Quirky mysteries.
- Imperfect heroines.
- Unshakable hope.
Thank you for reading my books, supporting my stories, and joining me on this adventure.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have more fictional murders to plan and at least one heroine with an unusual gift who is waiting rather impatiently for me to finish writing her story.
