My Old New Project
Why be content with a blog, when you can write a book? This is exactly what I’m in the process of doing. (imagine stress hair a-flying, stale cups of coffee surrounding me, and little girl giggles coming from my 30 something mouth.)I have dreamed of writing since I was 11 years old. Perhaps even longer. I was writing fan fiction before it was a thing. And now I’m completing a passion project of prose and publishing it.
I can’t explain the mixture of tingles and terror that course through my tense spine. My words will be readily available for perusal and punishment worldwide.
So what is this book about? Not Star Wars, as my high school scribbling were often about. Nope. They are a collection of simple, imagined journal entries of a 10-year-old girl dealing with Dyslexia. Not only in her studies but also in her everyday life, where things, like memorizing your telephone number, writing a friend a letter, and playing at the park, are affected. It’s about the frustration and the fear that accompanies being, obviously different from one’s peers and how faith and family can help temper them.
I’m currently searching for volunteers to join my launch team. These brave souls will send out FB updates, post Instagram graphics, and write reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, and even their own blogs. I have limited spots available. If you’re willing to jump into this journey, alongside me, please use my contact page to connect with me. Let me know what makes you a great candidate for this specific launch team, where one can find you on the internet, and any other special talents that you’re willing to bring to the team. If selected, you will receive the link to the launch team’s private Facebook Group and a PDF of Diary of a Dyslexic Homeschooler. My eleven-year-old self will thank you.
The launch team will run November 1st – November 19th. (launch team now closed)
