  • It’s Agatha Christie Time

    September 7, 2022 / 0 Comments

Funny thing about mystery writers. Their real lives are often mysteries of their own. Agatha Christie is no exception. Multiple movies have hypothesized and dramatized her missing days. There’s even a Dr. Who episode about them. It’s time to meet the grand madam of mystery, Agatha Christie, and her big-time murders in small-town settings. *** As authors come closer to the present time, their biographies may become more graphic. Please use care. Don't rely on my standards. Please- Vet the videos to fit your family's needs. *** Agatha Christie Biographies Short Ones Longer Ones Mystery of Agatha’s Missing Days Here are some theories about Agatha’s missing days. What do you…

  • My First Bright Week on BLE

    August 14, 2021 / 0 Comments

Come on in my friend. Grab a coffee and get comfy as I give you a peek at my first week on Bright Line Eating. The Call: I’d heard of Bright Line Eating before. Three years before, to be honest. I felt its call, researched its online presence, and decided it would be way too impossible for me. So, instead of changing my mindset, I ignored it. Flash ahead 18 months, and BLE called again. It beckoned a bit louder, through the same source it used the year before. But hey, it was 2020 so again I shut it up and pushed it aside. That brings us to now- I’m…

  • 90 Days through the New Testament

    January 21, 2019 / 1 Comment

I love challenges. I do a great job tackling hard missions. Juice fasts. Nanowrimo. Once I signed up for a read the Bible in 90 days challenge and nailed it. The problem, for me, is once I’ve conquoered the challenge I don’t continue the behavior. It only takes a week or two and before I’ve slid off the wagon and back into familar routines. My 90 days through the Bible challenge was fantastic and did spur on a deeper love for God’s word but didn’t become a habit. This time around I want to savor the scriptures as I push myself to complete them. I also want to include my…

Keep Together Time Alive   Long before I considered teaching my children from home our family had adopted the habit of morning time. We’d come together, open God’s word, pray, read, play and discover the world before separating into our individual routines. How did this begin? I didn’t have an epiphany as I read the scriptures. There was no correlation between how Jesus bonded with and taught the 12 that brought about our quaint routine. At the time, I had never heard of Pam Barnhill, Sarah Mackenzie, Charlotte Mason, or any other homeschool savant. I hadn’t even read a single book on child education. No, Bean, my then 3-year-old, came…
