Help to Be Still

Panic! Fear! Urgency is the state we’re all living in during this trying time. Telling people to stay calm does little more than display how crazed we all feel. If you’re like me you need help relearning how to be still… And Know He is God.

When life gets crazier and crazier and this mama can no longer think I get help from the list below… maybe something I use may help you.

Christian Meditation Podcast

This is a podcast that does just what it says: it guides listeners through mediation sessions focusing on God’s word. For 15 to 25 minutes I can sit, breathe, and inhale the peace God has to offer me. All it takes is my phone, earbuds, and the podcast. Sometimes I write in my journal afterward. But not always. Try it and tell me what you think.

Write the Word

With more than one focus to choose from, these beautiful journals have me writing God’s word on the pages while writing it on my heart.
But don’t let the lack of a journal stop you. Any notebook and any pen will do. The prettier the better, for me. And if you can add stickers and washi tape, it’s all the more relaxing and fun.

Yoga with Caroline

Christ-centered stretching and breathing, coached by a very caring instructor equals a moment of pause and refocus. Caroline has videos for every ability, every situation, and every schedule. She’s calm and encouraging. Exactly what’s needed in this time of stress. (PS I love her Yoga for when your a hot mess series, her meditations, and yoga for that time of the month—but that’s just me)

Brant and Sherri Oddcast

What better way to shake off stress and prepare your heart for a moment of stillness than a bout of belly shaking laughter. Enter Brant Hansen. With his producer Sherri, my family and I laugh together as if we’re hanging out with good friends. In 15 minutes we’re uplifted, encouraged, and reminded of the vastness of God’s love. Honestly, what could be better?

And that’s how this mama finds shelter in the storms of life. Especially, when the waves are so big you can’t see the other side. God’s got it. And slowing down to be still with Him, even in the middle of the turmoil, is what helps me remember that I sure A MIGHTY GOD.

I’m praying for you. Please encourage each other during this tough season.

Until next time,

I’m cheering you on,

What do you think?
