Finishing Paranormal Penny: My Plans for the Year

Every January carries a little hope and a little pressure. This year, I’m choosing clarity instead of pressure.

After more than five years of living with Penny Nicols and her world, I’ve made a simple, meaningful decision:

This is the year I finish the Paranormal Penny Mystery series.

And instead of disappearing into the writing cave, I’m inviting readers along for the journey.

Why This Year Matters

Paranormal Penny has been with me through seasons of growth, exhaustion, faith, doubt, and joy. She’s grown up on the page—and so have I. What started as a story idea slowly became a long-term commitment, one I’ve carried quietly for years.

Finishing this series isn’t about rushing. It’s about honoring the story, the readers who’ve stayed with Penny, and the version of me who started writing her in the first place.

This year isn’t about doing more. It’s about finishing well.

The Focus: Finish the Series

My primary creative focus this year is clear:

  • Write the remaining Paranormal Penny books
  • Give the story the ending it deserves
  • Protect my best creative energy for the page

No shiny distractions. No constant pivoting.

Just steady, faithful progress—one chapter at a time.

Taking YouTube Along for the Ride

Alongside the writing, I’ll be documenting the journey on my YouTube channel.

Not polished. Not perfect. Just honest updates about what it’s like to finish a series that’s taken over five years to write.

On the channel, I’ll be sharing:

  • Weekly Penny progress updates
  • Behind-the-scenes thoughts about the story (spoiler-free)
  • Reflections on finishing long creative projects
  • Free audiobooks from the Paranormal Penny series

YouTube isn’t a performance for me—it’s a place to invite readers into the process, not just the finished product.

Audiobooks, Binge-Reading, and New Readers

One of the gifts of this season is that many of the Paranormal Penny books are already available as audiobooks—some free right on my YouTube channel.

This year, I’ll be making it easier for new readers to:

  • Start the series
  • Binge the story in order
  • Catch up before the finale

Whether you prefer reading or listening, my hope is that Penny’s story feels welcoming and accessible.

Writing With Faith and Grace

This year, I’m also choosing to write with more grace toward myself.

That means:

  • Letting progress matter more than perfection
  • Resting when I need to
  • Trusting that consistency adds up

I believe stories matter. I believe finishing what we start matters. And I believe there’s room for faith, rest, and honesty in the creative life.

An Invitation

If you’ve read Paranormal Penny from the beginning—or if you’re just discovering her—I’d love for you to walk this final stretch with me.

You can:

  • Start the series
  • Listen to the audiobooks
  • Follow along on YouTube
  • Join my reader list for updates as the finale approaches

This year is about closing a chapter with intention.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
