Family Game Time
Christmas is coming. That means gifts and for our family that means GAMES!!! We love family game time. During Christmas break
We love love love games.
The teenage boy likes:
Killer Bunnies, Catan, and Machi Koro. Each game involves strategy mixed with game time whimsy. Each also has an element of dumb luck within its structure.
Killer Bunnies: you can collect nearly all the magic carrots and still lose because you didn’t have the secretly selected winning carrot.
Catan: though strategy is a huge part of this world building game every turn depends on the roll of the die.
Machi Koro: Build a cute little town. Have all the best establishments and you can still lose by one coin.
The tween girl prefers:
Forbidden Island, Chess, and Killer Bunnies. 3 super different games.
Forbidden Island: this cooperative game requires trust and team work to escape a sinking island.
Chess: all strategy and summing your opponent. She rocks me every time at chess. It’s not hard to do I’m horrible at planning ahead.
Sweet husband picks:
Picks the exact same as his son. In the same order, Killer Bunnies, Machi Koro, and Catan
Mom enjoys:
Old school Wii sports resorts, Edge of the Empire Roleplay game, and Killer Bunnies.
Old School Wii Sports Resorts: all the fun of an outing without the shoe rentals.
Edge of the Empire: become a character from the Stars Wars galaxy and team up to
As you can see we love to game. There’s usually one in the works and definitely at least one on our Christmas list.
Obviously, our family has a clear favorite: Killer Bunnies. * There are many expansions of the game, a few that our children have never seen because Hub’s and I deemed them inappropriate. In other words, use discernment for your family. It’s exactly as it sounds you kill each other’s bunnies. As a result, we all have to be in a cheerful mood to take part in gameplay or the game might end in weeping. *
What games do you all like to play? Share them in the comments. It might just be our families new favorite.
In the meantime here’s our virtual game cupboard. Some of these you can find at your local thrift store. But you can always click on a game to find it on Amazon.:
