My first Nanowrimo and Book Cover Reveal (Nope, book. It’s out!)

IT’S OUT! My book released early this morning! Check it out here :

Unless you follow me on Facebook, you’ve yet to hear about my leap onto the NaNoWriMo bandwagon.  Totally unexpected, which tends to be how I roll.

I knew National Novel Writing Month was a thing.  I had no idea the where or how’s of such an awesome project.  My memory was sparked during one of my BookTubing laundry folding binges.

Basically, you join a community of writers for support and accountability.  Then you write 50,000+ new words during the month of November.  This is November 2nd.  I was reacquainted with NaNoWriMo on October 28th.  Yup, three days to prepare.  With my first book baby birthday on the near horizon, I had to scrap and scratch for new ideas. I mapped out characters that never seem to leave me alone.  Aka my imaginary friends.  Then drew out a setting and a scenario, scribbled down an extremely rough timeline and viola, my new novel.

Also a fiction, this project will actually reach novel lengths.  It’s also more kitschy and more fun than my book.  It’s written in third person limited, opposed to my the first person prose of D.D.H.  Getting a bit of distance from my characters is a nice change of pace.  Is this one also destined for publication?  Well, we’ll have to wait and see.  Objective number one will be completing 50,000 words in 30 days.  I’m at 4,000, currently. 46,000 to go.  If you’re competing in NaNoWriMo, look me up. We can be writing buddies.

And now, for my blog’s cover reveal of Diary of a Dyslexic Homeschooler:

3D

It wasn’t exactly what I expected, but I love it.  Having a cover makes the entire process much more real.  Until now,  publishing a book has felt like a blurry haze of writing and rewriting, formatting and reformatting.  The due date is approaching.  I’ll keep you posted on the D.D.H. release date, as well as my NaNoWriMo word count. Thanks to all my followers for your encouragement and support!
